The book is written by owners Kelly and Dave. While they did not actually DO all those don’ts, they were just afraid they might! You need a healthy dose of humor to make it through most days (okay, everyday). We always need to remember in those moments, “this too shall pass”.

They are 100% cotton, which is the fabric of our lives people. WryBaby is super kind to remind us to “Remove baby before washing”, good reminder, good reminder.

My kids both attend classes at a local Gymboree. We were in music class that day my son was wearing the Instruction SnapSuit. There were 2 dad’s in class that day and both loved it! It was fun with just the right amount of snark.

My son’s middle name is Superman…well kinda. It’s the letter “S”, which as any true geek knows, stands for Hope in Krypton. The “I’m Super” SnapSuit was made for a super-kid like my son. This SnapSuit is available in 0-6, 6-12 and 12-18 months. My son is super petite but tall, so the 12-18 fits him perfectly. He loves the cape! He keeps turning around to see it. Canvas Backpack

My 2 year old thinks backpacks are the jam. She wants to be like a big kid and wear them all the time. I use toddler sized backpacks as a diaper bag, so we always have one with us. She loves to wear the toddler sized backpacks whenever she has the chance. Only problem with theses bags are that they are made for larger kids, ages 4-5. My daughter, being only 2.5 years old and very slender, has a balance issue with those backpacks. Whelp, problem solved peeps! WryBaby’s Canvas Backpacks are not only large enough to hold my diapers, wipes, sippies, snacks and wallet, but it’s also small enough for my 2 year old to wear while marching to the beat of her own drum. The inside has a handy name label. If you leave it behind somewhere the finder is able to quickly see who’s bag it is, but by being on the inside you are keeping your child’s identity safe from passersby. The shoulder straps are slim and close together, which allows a smaller child to comfortably wear the backpack without toppling over. When my husband saw our daughter wearing it he immediately noticed how perfectly it fit her. Next time I need a backback we will be ordering it from WryBaby.

Canvas Stuf™ Friends

These super modern stuffed toys are perfect for babies from newborn to toddler-hood. The soft canvas and stuffing make them fun to cuddle and squish. They have a small bell inside to engage the child audibly. The bell is soft enough so that the adults hearing it don’t want to kick it across the room but loud enough to allow that the baby shaking it enthusiastically gets that fun noise feeling still. The best part though is it being canvas, because they are super easy to keep clean! I hate when my child dribbles milk all over their cloth toy. Then I make the decision on whether to try and wash it or just toss it (will they notice it’s missing….?). No tossing in the trash thoughts with these. If a small amount of drool/milk/liquid gets on the canvas it is no problem, because it’s CANVAS! Just wipe it with a damp rag. Easy-peasy lemon squeezey.

Zoku Tips and Tricks

Always put the stick in first, before pouring.
DON’T over pour. It leads to it being more difficult to remove. Pour slowly until you get a feel for the depth.
Do not wait too long to remove pop from maker. It gets harder to remove.
Turn the remover tool until you see the pop start to move away from the sides. The pop is now free. Untwist the removal tool before removing your pop.
NEVER yank the stick if your pop is stuck.
If your pop is stuck because you overfilled it, pour some cool water on top. If that doesn’t loosen it then use lukewarm water.

How to Make Watermelon Zoku Quick Pops

This is such a kid friendly recipe. You can have your a toddler assist you in making this pop. Watermelon has such a high water content, that makes it a perfect beginner pop to try with your child. The beauty of Zoku Quick Pop Makers is that you can add the ingredients that you desire. I am able to give my children healthy and dye free pops any time.

Take 1/4 of a watermelon and chop into small, bit-sized pieces
Add 2 tablespoons of sugar to the melon pieces
Blend melon and sugar using a handheld mixer
Pour mixture into Zoku Quick Pop Maker
Let freeze for 8 minutes

How to Make Creamy Blueberry Zoku Quick Pops

Another super kid friendly recipe. They can help you scoop the ice cream, pour the milk and even wash the blueberries!

Place clean blueberries into blender or hand mixer safe container
Scoop 1 – 1.5 cups of vanilla ice cream into mixture
Add 1/3 cup of milk
Blend well (if too thick to pour into mold add milk)
Pour into Zoku Quick Pop Maker
Freeze for 8 minutes

That cute photo of your child located on your significant others Facebook wall, the one you don’t have saved to the computer, no problem for collage.com! You can take these photos and have them printed on more items then you can imagine. Standard items like canvases, calendars, and mugs, and more unique items like beach towels, shower curtains, tablet and phone cases and more (a comprehensive list is located at the bottom of this page).

A friend of mine who lives in France told me that she has made a personalized mug for her boss using photos of some of his favorite things for his birthday. The Fox Family Blanket

Placing an order with collage.com is such an easy and self explanatory process. The buttons are easily recognized and understandable. Once you click a product to design you will be given many choices. Options like: where to pull your pictures from, adding text, adding shapes and designs, adding a background, portrait or landscape, and many more.

The software will alert the user if their photos are not of a high enough resolution. You might see a red exclamation mark with the notice “Some images may appear blurry on final product. Please add more photos to your collage.” This handy notification helps ensure that you receive the highest quality products. While it might look in focus and of correct proportion on your computer screen this is not the real-life size of your product. A 50 by 60 blanket is only 30 times larger then my computer screen. I added around 40 pictures to my blanket. Some of the smaller pictures are not the most clear, but that is because they were taken with my cell phone (not a professional grade camera) along with me adding so many pictures. If I added less photos then the smaller photos would have been larger and a tad more clear. I stopped adding photos when I did because I felt it was compete then. After ordering I waited with baited breath for my blanket. How will it really look. Will it be soft and usable as a blanket? Will it feel hard and have texture? Will the pictures peel off? So many thoughts and questions ran through my mind. Then the day came! My blanket arrived. As soon as I touched it I feel in love. I unfolded the amazingly soft material to reveal the photos of my life. My favorite people and moments I have even experienced. Tears of joy flooded my eyes. It is perfect. It is my family. The photos are beautiful and the high quality far surpassed my expectations.

The blanket itself is a creamy, soft fleece. The kind that is smooth to the touch, and soft enough for a newborn baby to be laid on. All of the hemming is clean, and straight. The photos are clear and are completely embedded in the fabric. It is not simply screened on. Your toddler cannot pick at the photos and peel it off. I love how the photos are the blanket, not just pasted on it. I’m just amazed.

I am able to allow my children to play, use their imagination, and incorporate all of their senses in a safe and non-messy environment.

I am not a ‘clean freak’ necessarily but the thought of allowing my children to use paint or markers scares me. I see how they act with pasta sauce, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, really all food… I practically get sick thinking of paint or marker all over my dining room or their bodies and clothing. That was until I was exposed to My First Crayola products. My daughter was beyond thrilled when she saw that she was going to be able to play with colored dough. She asked for her scissors immediately (not included; available here). The activity sheets have beautiful, fun pictures featuring animals, playground scenes, automobiles, and loads of other pictures which will spark your child’s imagination so they can make it their own.

This set features triangular shaped crayons which are developmentally appropriate for young children. While a 3 year old is able to hold a circular crayon, the triangular shape helps their fingers find the correct placement for their fingers. This placement allows them to build confidence in themselves and their ability to draw and write independently. A large majority of us remember those days back in early elementary school, trying to learn the “right way” to hold our pencil. These triangular shaped crayons help kids naturally figure out this necessary skill.

Markers, what can I say? I have a love/hate relationship with them. They are bold. They are exciting. They are messy! Once in a while I need to take a deep breath and let the kids use them. They are beyond elated when getting to use that coveted marker. The first thing my daughter likes to do it repeatedly ‘stab’ the paper with the blunt tip end of a marker. That full arm strength jab. Typically a marker is ‘dead’ after one session with my marker aggressive daughter; the tip is shoved completely inside the tube so I toss it in the trash. These markers, however, are not your average marker. These markers have a special short and rounded tip. This allows for a child to press as hard as they want on the paper but without permanently damaging the marker! Genius! I applaud Crayola with this one ::insert light golf clap:: Crayola has named these markers their Secure Tip; the tips cannot be pinched off or crushed.

This product was made for moms like me. I adore it. My children adore it. Best of all, it is affordable.

The beauty of this type of product is that you can let your child play with a ‘marker’ without having it end up all over your dining room table…their hands…arms…clothing… I am able to safely walk away to wash a few dishes without worrying that my 2 year old is drawing a beard on my 1 year old. The freedom is priceless. What amuses me the most about this particular mess-free product is the design on the paper. It makes me remember the black sheets of paper we had in elementary school. We were given sharp wooden sticks (wow…schools were practically handing out weapons in the 80’s!) to scratch off the designs and pictures we wanted. I can have my children experience something similar, but without a weapon that could literally poke an eye out.

As soon as I opened the package my 2 year old asked for the “moo-moo cow”. I then realized that she was asking for the drawing utensil, which has a cow design. Having an engaging picture, as simple as it might seem, was a very smart move on Crayola’s end. My daughter can verbalize with which Crayola product she wants to play.

Most adults today grew up using Crayola crayons. We are familiar with them for this reason, but they are so much more then just a crayon manufacturer. They make tools for imaginations, because the “power of creativity starts here”.

This is such a cool book! I have never, in all my years, seen a book like this. This book has special pages which, when held up to a light, you can see through to the other side. Every page has this feature. The story shows children creatures of the sea, their habitats and the food they eat. My daughter (2 years old) was amazed at the special secrets on every single page. We have a tiny flashlight she uses for comfort at night in bed. We used that because it is small enough for her to hold and control while being powerful enough to reflect the hidden picture. If you don’t have a flashlight you can simply hold the book up to natural sun light or the light from a lamp. This keep my busy, I mean busy, 2 year old sitting still for 10 solid minutes. This is a must for the toddlers in your life.

That’s Not My Fox Touchy-Feely Board Book.

This is the perfect touch and feel book for infants. We all have seen the touch/feel books before. Most, in my opinion, are lame and fall short of any real ‘touch’ engagement. I have been blown away with the quality of Usborne’s touchy-feely books. Each page has an engaging touch feature which captivates your readers and explorers senses. All are relative to the story, large enough for small eyes to spot and have a significant textile distinction to be considered a true feely experience. The story features the quest to find the readers fox. They keep finding other foxes with different qualities but not ‘their’ fox. Will this elusive fox be found!? With Easter approaching us and baskets needing to be filled, what better thing to fill them with then books! Candy is fun and toys come and go, but a book can leave a positive and lasting mark on a child. With book levels from newborn to middle school you are guaranteed to find what you are looking for. Crystal Wash Review

The smell of all the chemicals in laundry soap grosses me out! I switched to making my own laundry soap a few years ago when I had my first child. Learning about all the harmful chemicals and dyes honestly freaked me out. My husband was not on board with our switch but he eventually hopped on board. We have been on the look out for a new, even safer, laundry alternative. I recently found out about Crystal Wash. I am so excited about this product!

Crystal Wash is able to wash your clothes without the use of chemicals, detergent or dyes. Crystal Wash uses a fine balance of Bio Ceramics (various minerals with very effective antibacterial and anti-oxidant properties which come from the earth) to create 2 benefits in the laundry’s water: deep cleaning and disinfecting. By deep cleaning they mean, “They produce far infrared rays that effectively reduce negative ions in the water of your laundry machine, which raises pH level to 8.5 or greater. This process shrinks the water molecule clusters to a size that allows dirts and soils to be soaked free naturally.” and my disinfecting they mean, “Additionally, the Bio Ceramics create Hydrogen Peroxide which disinfects the clothes, kills bacteria and odor.” “The pH level of laundry water impacts the wash greatly. If the water is overly acidic or alkaline it can damage delicate clothes and fabrics, cause colors to fade and cause clothing to still seem dirty even after washing. Most detergents on the market are a pH level of 6.5 – 9, but they use chemicals to achieve these levels.”

Not only does Crystal Wash save your family from harsh chemicals but it also saves you money! One of the other reasons that I switched to making my own detergent was to save my family money. As a SAHM I try to do what I can so help the financial situation of my family. A store bought detergent will cost you about $300 for 1,000 loads of laundry. Crystal Wash is only $50 for 1,000 loads! What a sweet sweet saving. Plus, is doesn’t contaminate your water supply. Living in the country, and having a sub-pump, my water goes into my backyard. That is the yard where my children roll around and where I grow my garden, which supplies my family with their food. I don’t want to think of all the gross chemicals that could get into my garden. YUCK!

I do a TON of laundry. My kids seem to go through at least 2 to 4 outfits a day. They seem to find ways to get food, paint, dirt, chalk, play-doh….anything really, on their clothes. Having to wash their clothes way more frequently then intended can cause the colors to fade and loose their brightness. But not with Crystal Wash! It keeps my kids clothes looking sharp, and keeps their integrity.

Directions:

Crystal Wash can be used with both top and front loading machines. At the beginning of your wash simply drop the 2 spheres into your washer along with your clothes. No need for detergent. Harsh stains and messes still require an advanced stain remover (darn you blueberries!! ::shakes fist::). If you would like a scent you can add a cap of fabric softener. To ensure effectiveness, every 2 to 3 weeks, you will want to recharge the bio-ceramics contained within the Crystal Wash spheres. To do this, simply place the spheres in the sun for an afternoon.

Once you make the switch you are going to never look back at laundry detergents again. The smell of those soaps literally makes me ill now.
