What really appeals to me about Lil Helper diapers is how relatable of a company they are. Lil Helpers is owned and run by two guys (Mohammad and Nader) who met in college and are quiet literally rocket scientists (that’s aerospace engineering to be more specific). My husband is a scientist (biologist something about DNA) who now works in telecom; a completely different field. What they have in common is this: the brains to make me feel like Penny from Big Bang Theory and the ability to make me laugh like a little school girl. Mohammad & Nader are dedicated, intelligent men who make parents life easier with their super designed cloth diapers and accessories.
Lil Helper diapers has a strong and honest mission. These are a few from their list of statements:

They also do NOT claim to help you or your child lose weight or that their diapers will improve your sex life. But you shouldn’t worry about that. There are plenty of other ways that you can improve this area of your life, like looking at how anal beads, butt plugs, and other types of sex toys can help to give you the sexual pleasure that you so desire. However, it would not be wise to restrict yourself to sex toys only. Charcoal Inserts
When I received my diapers I was so excited to try both the bamboo and charcoal inserts! I have heard about charcoal inserts a few times in different Facebook cloth diaper groups, but had yet to know anyone personally who used them. I was super excited to find out that you only have to wash them one to prep! They are fully ready to go as far as absorbency power. You should wash them 1 time before use just because, ya know, stuff gets dirty in transport.
The inserts have a 4 layer design. The outermost shell is charcoal cloth and the 2 inside layers are micro terry cloth. This allows for super quick absorbency and super hold.
Charcoal provides:
- Stay dry features
- Hypoallergenic
- Naturally deodorizing
- Anti-bacterial
- Dark in color (wont show those blueberry poop stains!)

Bamboo Inserts
I have used some bamboo inserts from other brands, but nothing is like the bamboo inserts from Lil Helper. Other bamboo inserts are just that, bamboo. What makes the Lil Helper bamboo insert unique is that it is stuffed inside with 2 layers of micro terry cloth. This allows for a super luxuriously soft outer shell with the added bonus of super absorbency!
Bamboo Insert
- Bamboo is highly sustainable (get more yield in a crop when compared to cotton….but a lot – this means it is better for the earth)
- More absorbent than cotton
- Softer and smoother than cotton
Lil Helper Diapers
I was so excited about the inserts I did not really inspect the diapers themselves when I first received them. It was not until I first put them on my skinny legged son that I saw a super perfect feature, a leg hip snap! The hip snaps are the snaps at the top of a diaper, by the hips/belly button. Lil Helpers went the extra mile and put a second, bottom row (closer to the leg hole) on their diapers. This is super crazy awesome for skinny legged kids. Some diapers cannot and will not get tight enough to contain their contents on skinny legged kids. You will get leakage through the leg holes. Not with Lil Helpers! Because of the 2nd row I can get my diaper around my sons gut (you know, the toddler beer gut) but still get it tight on his tiny legs!
The other fabulous design of Lil Helper diapers is that the inserts are interchangeable with the diapers. You can buy a bamboo and charcoal insert and the just snap in whatever shell you choose. Mix and match galore!
Their diapers are All-In-2’s. This means you snap the inside in and the shell can be used 2 or 3 times before wash (if not soiled). This makes trips out so much easier. Why lug all those AIO’s when you can grab 2 inserts and 1 shell from Lil Helper? Makes the diaper bag easier to manage and the wet bag less heavy.
The Lil Helper shell diaper is also lined. All other AI2’s I have seen are just PUL and snaps. Lil Helper diapers have a soft inside that the inserts snap too. This makes the diaper way more cozy. I would rather have plush material then PUL rubbing my hips as I walk around, wouldn’t you?
Bamboo Stay Dry Liners
These are seriously the coolest accessory I have encountered in my cloth diaper experience.
These sleek and soft liners can go into any diaper, yes any diaper. They are made of 50% bamboo viscose and 50% polyester mesh. This allows them to be super absorbent and quickly wick away moisture (which is how you avoid a diaper rash). These little liners have a super power…they make changing poopy diapers easy. Yes I just wrote easy. The solids will slide right off the material! Making all poops plop-able! No one likes trying to get that fruit based toddler poop off a diaper. Its the least glamour part of cloth diapering. These liners make changing those poopy diaper super fast and easy.
Lots of companies offer flushable or disposable liners. Having a septic system there is no such thing as a safe to flush liner. I refuse to try and then end up with a clogged toilet or worse a broken aerator. Lil Helper stay dry liners are reusable so they will save us money and help the environment. About Best Bottoms All-in-2 Diaper
How to use a Best Bottoms Diaper:
- Adjust front snaps to achieve the size needed.
- Snap insert into diaper.
- Put diaper on baby and go!
- When baby needs a diaper change snap out soiled insert and snap clean one in.
- Put diaper on baby and go AGAIN. The Best Bottom shell is wipe-able and can be used multiple times before washing but you may want to air dry between uses but it is not necessary.
To have a full stock of Best Bottom Diapers you will need 8-10 shells and 18-24 inserts.

I find that AI2’s like Best Bottoms are perfect for day trips and running errands. AIO’s can be bulky when you need 3 or 4 diapers for a day out running errands. I love using AI2’s for days like these. Grab 2 covers and a hand full of inserts and I have a 6 to 8 hour supply of diapers with very little space. Having 2 children under 3 I try to have the smallest possible diaper bag I can. I need my arms for grabbing running children and juggling the items I am trying to buy, not a bulky diaper bag!
Washing Instructions – Oh so easy! – from Best Bottom Website
We recommend washing every 2-3 days. We have found that the Best Bottom system washes beautifully as it takes up less space in your washing machine allowing more room for agitation getting your diapers super clean.
- Remove solids
- Reuse the shell until soiled or wash day. Separate shell from insert before washing. Fasten laundry tabs (if applicable).
- Do a cold rinse or cold quick wash (no detergent).
- Warm or hot (not sanitary) full wash with additive-free detergent (use detergent’s recommended amount). Use the most amount of water possible.
*Tip! Throw a soaking wet towel into your washing machine to “trick” it into using more water. - Extra rinse.
- Inserts can be tumble dried. Shells should be line dried or tumble dried on low heat. You should read the wasdroger informatie before putting them in, just to make sure you havr them on the right setting. They dry pretty quickly and the babies always love it when they come out nice and toasty. *No fabric softeners, dryer sheets or additives such as bleach, vinegar, baking soda, washing soda, borax, oxyclean, etc. should be used.
**Rash creams can only be used with a barrier between baby and the diaper.
***We know that additive-free detergents work and are least likely to cause any problems with your diapers. However, we have done extensive testing with Tide Original and know that it works with our diapers.

Mama’s Experience
The Best Bottom system features a double gusset leg hole. This means that their is an extra layer of protection around the leg holes to have avoid unwanted leaks. Having a child with skinny legs this can be a make or break diaper deal in my household.
There are 3 levels of adjustable rise. If you have a newborn or very young child you will want to connect to the lowest set of buttons, making the diaper shorter and give your child a correct fit. As the child grows and gets taller/longer you will adjust the rise snaps accordingly. This diaper has the ability to have 2 inserts being used at the same time. If you are using both inserts (for overnight or longer car drives) you may want to take into consideration which rises you are snapping to. I use a higher choice when it is stuffed more. This is how my child was created. Each child’s body is unique and you will need to try a few different options and see which works best for you.
I love how thick and absorbent the inserts are. They are very soft with the fleece outer layer. The Stay Dry inserts (which are shown here) have 4 layers of super thirsty microfiber. They really suck up and pull away liquids fast. The fleece I have mentioned allows the liquids to be pulled away fast and give your child a feeling of being dry.
The doubler or overnight insert has snaps on both sides. This allows you to snap it onto the shell and then snap the normal insert right on top of it, giving the diaper a double insert. This is perfect for overnight diapers, long car rides or instances which you know your child will need the extra absorbency.

I have tried a few different all-in-one diapers. What really makes this one special is the inside, because it is truly an all-in-one. The inside of this diaper has a super long insert that is permanently attached. It folds down 2 times to create a double liner like environment.
This diaper is not only super absorbent (he is able to wear it at nap time without leakage) but it’s super cute! Foxes…really…be still my heart.
This diaper washes very well. I prefer to drip dry my diapers. I let it air dry until completely dry. Then I place them into the dryer for 5 to 8 minutes to soften them. When you drip dry/line dry a diaper they will be hard. In order to get that fluffy/soft feeling back I place them on delicate for a few minutes in the dryer. This helps a ton. Be sure to NEVER pull on the elastic once removed from the dryer. Doing that will stretch the elastic and cause the leg holes to not be as tight. This would ruin a diaper for us. The tight legs are a huge part of leakage for my son in some diapers. I love this diaper for its great leg holes.

I really like Imagine AIO diapers, like a lot. I can trust them for overnights, which is not something I can say about every diaper. If you have read some of my other cloth diaper reviews you know how my son has very skinny legs. He is just a petite little man. Most diapers leak out of the leg gussets, but not Imagine Baby Product diapers! I’m just thrilled that we have another overnight diaper to use and to suggest for other skinny legged babies.
The AIO diaper has a super luxurious insert. The fleece is a dream. So soft I want to cuddle up to it. I got too antsy and did not fully pre-wash my diaper the recommended times (I know I know) and the first 2 times we used it the fleece kept getting stuck to his man parts LOL! It was not an issue and caused NO irritation but I do recommend that you pre-wash your diaper according to packaging instructions to avoid the surprise fleece on your child’s skin. Just a friendly I-am-a-human-too heads up mistake.
I really like the hook and loop velcro and laundry tabs. It is really easy to pull opened with one hand when changing a diaper but strong enough to stay on your child. The laundry tabs are placed in a great spot and very reliable in the wash to stay connected. I hate when a hook and loop style diaper detaches during the wash and then sticks to a nice insert or diaper. I don’t worry about that at all the Imagine Baby Product diapers.
The insert is really smartly designed because it has two snaps instead of one. This makes the insert have a smaller chance of shifting inside the diaper while in use. I really think that feature makes Imagine Baby Products diaper stand out.

You know we have practically all tried taping a piece of paper by the doorbell, but they always fall off or become unreadable from rain.

What is The Knock Nanny?

There are so many options I had such a hard time picking one for my front door!
They even offer options like ‘No Soliciting’ and ‘Do Not Disturb’ for those without children but who want to enjoy the silence.
Installation
There are several ways the Knock Nanny can be installed. There is the standard method or the non-standard method. If neither of these methods are able to work with your doorbell/house there is still a way! The adhesive strips which come with the Knock Nanny are pretty spectacular. They can be used on an ‘install anywhere’ situation. Simply place the strips on the back of the knock nanny where it points towards the house. The strips are wider then the edge of the Knock Nanny, this is not a problem. It will stick to any surface. These strips are a very high adhesive strength and leave no residue left behind after removal. This allows for those special circumstance installments.

When I received my Knock Nanny the first thing I wanted to do was look at the stickers! There are so many unique designs to choose from. I think it’s such a great idea to have such versatile options with their product. You can choose adorable sleeping baby stickers, a request to only knock, one asking to leave packages at the door, even ones that just say No Soliciting or Do Not Disturb. This product is not just for parents with small children. Young adults trying to study for exams, average adults who don’t want to be disturbed or elderly people who may not feel up to walking to the door; all different types of people will benefit from having a Knock Nanny installed.
The Knock Nanny itself is made of a high quality material (the same stuff used in Lego’s) and it keeps both flexibility and form in extreme low and high temperatures. This is a super important feature. Living in Ohio we get well into the negative 20’s during the winter. Having this outside when those temperatures hit, I will have no worries about my Knock Nanny. The stickers are a super high quality, fade resistant and water resistant. Take that post it note signs!
Installation was a breeze! I couldn’t believe how simple it was to slide over the doorbell. I applied the double sided sticker to both sides of the doorbell. I slid the Knock Nanny onto the doorbell and pushed back. It felt super secure even though it was very smooth to install.
The message decals were easy to remove as well. Here I will show you two different decals. It peeled off clean and I was able to place the first decal back on the sheet.
