When I was pregnant with my 2nd child (my son) I was determined to breast feed. Breast milk will provide more wonderful things for a baby then you could imagine. I was not fully educated when I had my first child and I didn’t know what I was doing. I never was able to fully establish my supply and my breastfeeding journey ended early due to my lack of knowledge and milk. Now my son is almost 15 months and we are still nursing! I am so pleased with my ability to give him my breast milk. I have always used a nursing tank under my shirt instead of a nursing bra, but now with summer approaching (and not needing that extra layer of clothing in the heat) I have been looking for a new nursing bra. I was approached by BeliBea and was excited to try out there new nursing bra.

BeliBea was founded and created by a mother, Melissa Holland. As a mom, she knew what she loved and hated in a nursing bras.Having to constantly pump and also needing to be a mom who had other children who needed her attention and hands, she knew the importance of hands free pumping. After years of research and development Melissa and her team have come up with a bra that is not only comfortable but takes the stress away from hands free pumping. Worrying about the milk coming out and staying in the container is the last thing you need when pumping, especially with hands free pumping. If I am all uptight my let down will not happen. We need to be comfortable and relax to have a successful let down.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) strongly recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life and that breastfeeding continue for at least 12 months

This bra has 2 features which any nursing mom will love, the ability to nurse and to pump hand-free with! Having a dual purpose makes this bra really stand out.

What makes Nourish by BeliBea my favorite nursing bra?

It’s cozy. If I am going to be wearing a bra, I have to be comfortable. I can’t be reajusting and pulling at my bra. I don’t have time. I have 2 kids and too much to do. I need comfort
It has 2 snaps. 2 snaps, that is right. Top one is for the outermost shell. This is to be dropped if you want to only expose your nipple. This is the one to drop if you are pumping and want to use the hands-free pumping feature, or if you want more coverage when nursing in public. The 2nd snap can be dropped to unveil your breast completely. This is how I prefer to nurse.
It has a removable/washable nursing pad. Sleekly tucked into the outermost shell of the bra there is a removable, washable, nursing pad. This is too cool ladies. We all use a nursing pad at some point. Whether disposable or reusable, they are a necessity. This pad is perfectly formed to the bra to allow for some discretion. When things get….hard…this helps keep the ladies in check, if you know what I mean… Being removable you have the option to not use it and the bra is fully functional without it. You can wash them and pop them right back in. Saving you money on all those disposable pads.
It has a real bra back snap. No worrying about pulling this bra over your tender breasts like a sports bra. BeliBea comes with a real functioning bra strap snap. This also allows you to fit to size in a more customized manor.
Comes with instructions. For those who have never tried to pump with a bra on, or dove into the hand-free pumping world, directions are a great resource. It has pictures too to help the visual people like myself.

These cups are amazing. They feature a 100% spill proof design. The cup has a small marker showing you how far to twist the top when securing to ensure a safe seal. I have found that while this concept is great in theory, is only works for a short period of time. When I get a cup with the secure zone feature, it will work for the first few times and will connect in the zone. Then the 3rd or 4th time my lid will continue past the seal zone. If I stop at the zone indicated my cup will leak, but if I continue to twist until tight-by-feel then I know I have a secure lid. I would recommend turning until you feel it is secure and not fully based on the secure zone indicator.

This cup has only 3 parts. The base, the lid and a white plastic split prevention piece.

When you remove the top you will find the white spill prevention piece. You remove it by twisting and pulling it. It will pop right off.

It is not a screw on piece with a track. You only need to twist it because it has a nice, tight seal. When a liquid sits in this small white piece for a while be sure to wash it well. Liquid sitting in it can be hard to see at first glance but it can be stuck on the small hole. I use a tiny bottle nipple brush when cleaning hard to reach places.

My favorite feature of this cup is how it helps my daughter keep the feeling of drinking from a cup but without the spilling factor. She thinks cups are so wonderful and uses them when sitting at the diner table. However, she is not to be trusted with walking around carrying a cup; it will be everywhere. This cup helps her keep that cup mentality, helping to avoid a developmental regression. I want her to keep moving forward and (eventually) make a full transition to cups all the time. This is the perfect cup to help my daughter in the meanwhile.

This cup is my families favorite sippy we have EVER owned. Having only 2 pieces to clean and to reassemble is a huge selling point. No caregiver likes to scramble around trying to put together a cup when the child is thirsting and cranky. I am able to easily and quickly take apart and put together this 2 piece cup. I honestly love everything about this cup and have even bought more. I stopped a few moms in the feeding section at my local Target and told them about this cup and helped them pick their next cup purchase. The only possible leakage that can occur is my the user not drinking the liquid all the way out of the rubber mouth piece. If they do not take in the full amount they retrieved then the left over in the top can spill out; the potential liquid spillage is very minimal. This is due to the deep well of the mouth/nipple piece. But like I said, buy this cup!!!

These are the best bottle, in my opinion, for the mom who wants to breast feed exclusively but has to be away from baby at times. This new design is a wonderful replica of a mother nipple. The Anti-colic Air System is such an important feature. Babies, bottle or breast fed, can possibly swallow air when eating. This being minimized is ideal. We have to burp out babies, that is a given. But if we can lessen the quantity of swallowed air this will make eating a more enjoyable experience for baby and the person feeding baby. Less burping + less spit up = less laundry & happy care giver. It’s a win win!

If you look closely at a real mothers nipple and a bottle’s nipple there is a difference, that is a given. Every mothers nipple is different, just as we as people are different. Without going into the “too-much-information” department this Orthopedic nipple is more spot on to a real mothers nipple than any I have seen in my almost 3 years as a parent of 2 children. As I looked at the bottles nipple in person for the first time my jaw actually dropped opened. I never saw a design like this, like ever. Instead of the opening being at the very peak of the nipple, like every other nipple, this opening is on an angle on the side. Quick breast feeding lesson: A woman’s nipple has many ducts and her milk does not just come out if 1 single opening, but many. The baby’s tongue massages the underneath of the nipple and areola to trigger a let down and allow to milk to be released. Nuk’s Advanced Orthopedic nipple helps the baby keep that oral pattern and allows that sucking and mouth movement which releases milk in a breast to be the way the milk is extracted from the bottle. This allows a baby to easily go from breast, to bottle, then back to breast.

The book is written by owners Kelly and Dave. While they did not actually DO all those don’ts, they were just afraid they might! You need a healthy dose of humor to make it through most days (okay, everyday). This SnapSuit is available in 0-6, 6-12 and 12-18 months. My son is super petite but tall, so the 12-18 fits him perfectly. He loves the cape! He keeps turning around to see it. Canvas Backpack

My 2 year old thinks backpacks are the jam. She wants to be like a big kid and wear them all the time. I use toddler sized backpacks as a diaper bag, so we always have one with us. She loves to wear the toddler sized backpacks whenever she has the chance. Only problem with theses bags are that they are made for larger kids, ages 4-5. My daughter, being only 2.5 years old and very slender, has a balance issue with those backpacks. Whelp, problem solved peeps! WryBaby’s Canvas Backpacks are not only large enough to hold my diapers, wipes, sippies, snacks and wallet, but it’s also small enough for my 2 year old to wear while marching to the beat of her own drum. The inside has a handy name label. If you leave it behind somewhere the finder is able to quickly see who’s bag it is, but by being on the inside you are keeping your child’s identity safe from passersby. The shoulder straps are slim and close together, which allows a smaller child to comfortably wear the backpack without toppling over. When my husband saw our daughter wearing it he immediately noticed how perfectly it fit her. Next time I need a backback we will be ordering it from WryBaby.

Canvas Stuf™ Friends

These super modern stuffed toys are perfect for babies from newborn to toddler-hood. The soft canvas and stuffing make them fun to cuddle and squish. They have a small bell inside to engage the child audibly. The bell is soft enough so that the adults hearing it don’t want to kick it across the room but loud enough to allow that the baby shaking it enthusiastically gets that fun noise feeling still. The best part though is it being canvas, because they are super easy to keep clean! I hate when my child dribbles milk all over their cloth toy. Then I make the decision on whether to try and wash it or just toss it (will they notice it’s missing….?). No tossing in the trash thoughts with these. If a small amount of drool/milk/liquid gets on the canvas it is no problem, because it’s CANVAS! Just wipe it with a damp rag. Easy-peasy lemon squeezey.

I have been doing in-depth bible studies for around 5 years now. When I say in-depth I am not exaggerating. I spend hours praying, reading and researching to try and get a better grasp of what I am studying. I am by NO MEANS a professional or anything special when it comes to bible studies. I just have gained confidence, techniques and resources over the years. I will list a few resources and links below to help you dive in deeper when you are studying the Word.

Studying, Interpreting and Applying the Bible – by Walter Henrichson

This is by far the best book out there when it comes to helping you learn how to study the bible. It teaches you how to teach yourself. How to study, interpret and apply the bible. You will not regret reading this book. Available through Amazon for purchase. Click here for link.

This is an AMAZING resource! Not only does it have tons of versions of the bible, but it has the Strong’s Concordance (all the Greek and Hebrew – how the bible was originally written). If you are unfamiliar with Greek and Hebrew (I have never studied them either) this is a super tool. You can click on the word as you see it in scripture and it will take you to the concordance so you can see how it was intended to be written in the original. Our American English words now-a-days are not necessarily the same as they were when the bible was written. This tool helps you understand the meaning so much more then just reading the scriptures in the words you and I know today.

Example:

Look up John 4:14
Click on the Jhn 4:14 Hyperlink (in blue)
Now you will see the entire verse broken down and laid out. The English version you are viewing it in (I love NASB the best) on the left and the original Greek on the right according to Strong’s Concordance.
See the words “springing up”. There is a blue hyperlink “G242”, the Greek word written in Greek and the English translation hallomai. Click on the blue hyperlink G4095.
In the box labeled “Outline of Biblical Usage” you will see the difference definitions of that word according to the original text. For this example there are 2 possible definitions: 1) to leap or 2) to spring up, gush up: of water
To find out which or these definitions is the one for the verse you are reading you must look at the box labeled “Thayer’s Greek Lexicon”. Click on the blue hyperlink under the box labeled “Click Here for the Rest of the Entry”.
Now this might be overwhelming and look like a ton of gibberish. Using your elementary school days think back to the use of Roman Numerals. Read through the this section looking for “Jn. iv. 14” Which is John 4:14 in Roman numerals. Here is it listed after the definition “to spring up, gush up: of water”, which means that is the original definition the author (more importantly God) wanted used in His written Word.
Occasionally you will not find your verse listed in the Strong’s break down of biblical usage. I find this frustrating and read through it several times. I am not sure why its not listed but in those cases I make my own best educated guess as to which definition the Holy Spirit would want me to use.

This is my favorite place to get cross references. Using a cool color/shading system you can see references which our peers think are most spot on and beneficial. You can vote yes or no on whether you think that scriptures is a key reference to the one you are comparing.

Once at the main page scroll down a tad and you will see CROSS REFERENCES under the section “LABS”. Once you click on it it will bring you to this page. Here you can search any verse in the bible. For consistency reasons, let’s search John 4:14 again. Once you are viewing the page you can see that each cross reference box is a shade of pink. From deep pink that is verse searched is shaded, all the way to a light pink/almost white color. Readers like you and me are able to vote whether you feel this is a true and helpful cross reference. There is no signing in, just a little click to help the administrators manage this free and very helpful site.
