Bible Belles is one of my households favorite series to read together. With biblical values at the base of each story they are packed with entertainment, Truth and beautiful images. In each book the reader follows Rooney, the protagonist, who finds herself in a pickle and needs some advise. It is then that a fairy like angel comes to Rooney’s rescue with a story from the bible that helps guide her decisions and actions. Each book pulls from a princess like biblical women and how she handles what God as put in front of her. The book of Ruth shows us to remain loyal, no matter what turmoil we may face. In Ruth, The Belle of Loyalty, Rooney wants to give up and all she wants to do is leave…but can she choose to love instead? As Rooney watches Ruth face the choice to stay or walk away, she learns what it means to be loyal and put another person’s needs before her own.
My children love to read books, it is part of our daily life. Finding Christian books is not a problem. There are tons out there, but I have never come across books that show the readers the women heroes of the bible, and then shows them how to apply the truth in their own lives. No matter our ages, we have room for growth. Establishing the Truth and a solid foundation at a young age can help the young girl in your life set herself up for a successful walk with Christ.

Instilling Christian values in my children is one of the top focuses in my life. Striving to give them the tools they need for a future in our crazy world is something every parent wants to give their children. With the help of apps like Playlister, Sunday churches have become easier, and more effective. However, the effect of a book remains immortal.
Having found Bible Belles book series, I am excited to tell you that this is a great way to really help solidify the basic concepts from some amazing bible heroes.
Little girls are often times very attracted to princesses and the excitement that goes with being a princess. Bible Belles took this concept and ran with it. By taking women from the bible who are awesome heroes, than featuring them as the main biblical person to teach the reader about a biblical characteristic. Giving the reader a fun yet true story and, most importantly, how to apply this truth to a small child’s everyday life.
Every book has been illustrated by a former Disney cartoonist, giving the books images the stunning and exciting quality that draws in a child’s attention. In each book the main character, Rooney, finds herself dealing with a common issue which a child may face. In the story of Abigail, Rooney see’s her brother being mean and unloving towards a neighbor. The situation which Rooney faces is written to parallel that of Abigail’s. A reoccurring character, Mari the angel, helps take Rooney into the bible story and shows her a real story and truth from Gods Word. At the end, Rooney is able to make the connection and use her knowledge to make the right, and sometimes hard choices, as a child of Christ in her life’s experiences.
My daughter is 4 and loves to read. Seeing it “click” on how she can be like Abigail by being brave gives her the confidence in Gods Words we are seeking. Teaching a young girl or boy the importance of applying learned truths from the bible to their everyday life is a key trait for any growing Christian. Being able to figure out on their own how to make life applications will help them grown not only in their faith, but as a person dependent on Christ.

About 10 years ago a mom very much like myself, was searching for rain boots for her kids. She wanted ones that are durable, functional and fun. After searching without any luck, she new she needed to fix this situation. Thus, Oakiwear was born.

Once the sun started to peek its head out here in Ohio, my kids were begging to go outside. Many parents are unaware of the safety concerns that are associated with coats and car seats. When I first found out about the Cozywoggle I was intrigued. As a mom who lives in a super cold state, the coat and car seat debacle is a big part of my life. My family doesn’t understand why I don’t put huge puffy coats on my children in the winter time. But they didn’t know the knowledge we do as well as such high-tech car seats. After testing this coat I can honestly say that I highly recommend this to any parent with a child in a car seat. Here’s why:
Looks/Fit:
This coat is cute! Being that it has a super important functionality I wasn’t sure how it would really look like in real life. The zippers on the side are so unnoticeable that they are not distracting if fashion is your forte. They blend in like seams and no one would ever look twice at them. The material is smooth and durable. I feel like this would be a great playing in the snow jacket. Durable, warm and easy to move in. All qualities a child would want if they knew how to verbalize it.
The coat runs a tad large. Its just how they are manufactured. My daughter just moved into a 3T a few months back. This coat is a 3T and it really fits well. There is a little bit of room, but I would want that being that she will wear sweaters and hoodies under it occasionally and might have a growth spurt this winter. Every mom knows its better to be too big than to be too small.
Ease of Use:
The coat front zipper works and functions like any other zip up coat. Easy peasy. My daughter likes that the top has a piece of fabric that covers up the zipper part so when you tuck your chin into the coat its against fabric and not a cold metal zipper. I think it is a tiny detail that really is thoughtful.
If you have not watched the video above I suggest you do. It shows how easy it is to zip the sides up and down. I was skeptical that it would glide that smoothly on my can’t-stay-still toddler. But it did! It was super easy and fast to zip up and down. Knowing this can be a crazy quick step makes my hopes for success in this coat rise. I also had no fear or skin pinching because its not too tight against her body.
In the Car Seat:
I was hesitant that this would be comfortable in the seat based on how it lays on the child. I asked my daughter what she thought of the her coat and she immediately said, “it’s very warm and cozy”. I offered for her to take it off and she wanted to keep it on, so I knew that she really meant it. I love how I can clearly see that she is buckled in correctly and she has the cozy coat on top of her still. I needed this to work fast though. I have a pick up line at her preschool and I cannot monkey around with a coat and the car seat. I was able to use it fast and safely the first time taking her to and from pre-k.

This is a onesie but made to look like a tee shirt. I love how versatile it is and how it can go with so many different bottoms. Jeans, dress slacks, khakis, or solid colors. I do think they run large. My son is 18 months and can fit in the 6-12 month onesie. My son is crazy tiny and wears 9 month pants, but he typically wears a 12 month top.
I have washed and dried this outfit several times and it still looks new! I am so pleased that no pilling or wear is noticeable after a wash. I washed on warm with like colors and dried on mixed/cotton medium heat in the dryer. No shrinkage either, which is so important in clothing.
