If you don’t feel as though you are drinking anywhere near enough water then now is probably a good time to do something about that. If you take steps now then you will soon find that it is easier for you to not only make a positive difference, but for you to also make sure that you are giving your body the nutrition that it needs to make it through the day.

 

Understand your Needs

The first thing you need to do is try and make sure that you understand your needs. Before you decide to drink more water, you need to make sure that you know the recommended intake. Although there is guidance out there, you have to remember that this is different for everyone. The amount you need will also come down to the activity you do during the day. If you want to help yourself here then try and make sure that you are not ignoring the days when you workout or the particularly hot days. If you don’t then you run the risk of being dehydrated, and this is the last thing you need.

Keep a Water Bottle Handy

Another thing you need to try and do is keep a water bottle handy. If you keep a water bottle close to you then this can go a long way when it comes to encouraging you to drink more water. Even a reusable water bottle is great here, as you can refill it as many times as you need. Keeping a water bottle handy can also serve as a solid visual reminder that you need to drink more.  If you struggle to remember to drink out of your water bottle then it is a good idea for you to set reminders so you can have a constant visual of when you need to drink more. If you do this then it’s wise for you to set an alarm for every half an hour, so you can increase your water intake. This is a good idea if you struggle with being forgetful or if you are just too busy to drink in the first place.

 

Replace Drinks

You also need to try and replace drinks with water if you can. If you drink a lot of pop then you may find that these are full of sugar and they are just not good for you either. If you want to make sure that you are always healthy then you need to try and limit 5% of your calorie intake to sugary drinks. If you want to help yourself then one thing you can do is try and drink more probiotic sparkling water. This is a great way for you to increase your water intake but at the same time, it also opens up way more doors for you when it comes to the options you have. If you can keep things like this in mind when you are trying to increase your water intake then you will notice a huge difference overall.
